Jon has since made his mark in the nation's capital and the production world by being awarded nine local Emmy Awards, twenty three National Telly awards as well as the CINE Gold Eagle Award. In addition, Jon is one of the few local producers to have won the coveted National Emmy Award, twice, in the category of Public Service Announcements. Jon is a seasoned production and digital media specialist. He approaches each project and its objective as a mission in storytelling. He's developed special skills throughout his career serving as an Executive Producer, Producer/Director Camera Operator and Editor for projects in broadcast, cable, and digital media. As important, he has proven experience and abilities in both long and short form film and video production on all media platforms. He is a successful producer of news packages, commercials, PSAs, social-media segments, web "snack & tags" as well as fundraising presentations, documentaries and programming for both non-profit and commercial clientele.
After graduation from Hofstra University in New York, Jon began he's career as a freelance production assistant, grip and gaffer. He soon joined Mountain View Productions, a production house in Schenectady, NY. This is where he began to develop his skills and hone his craft. At first, he was the Mountain View editor and then became a producer/director on many educational and industrial type programs. In 1990, Jon created his own production company, Side Street Productions, where his focus became in house corporate videos, industrial films and commercial production. In 1995, he was approached by WJLA-TV, the ABC affiliate in Washington, DC to create a commercial production department. He has since been Executive Producer and production consultant for Montgomery Community Media where he was instrumental in successfully re-launching their entire station's image and branding.
Jon's award winning PSA’s have included campaigns for Character Education for Children, The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, and the Choose to Save Retirement Savings Campaign. They can all be viewed on his "Samples/Videos" section. He presently lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with his wife Jill and two children Danielle and Michael.
